How Does A 4 Way Hydraulic Valve Work?

It typically has four ports through which hydraulic fluid enters and exits the valve. Here’s an overview of how a 4-way hydraulic valve works:

  1. Valve Structure:
    • A 4-way hydraulic valve consists of a body, a movable spool or poppet, and internal passages.
    • The valve body contains the ports for fluid connection and the necessary chambers and passages for directing the flow.
    • The spool or poppet is the movable element within the valve body that controls the flow paths and connects the appropriate ports.
  2. Port Configuration:
    • A 4-way hydraulic valve typically has four ports: P, T, A, and B.
    • The P port (Pressure port) is connected to the hydraulic pump or pressure source.
    • The T port (Tank port) is connected to the hydraulic reservoir or tank.
